o Kickstart 2.0 or better will give you 3d-look and a font requester.
Version 4.0 - 30-aug-1994
o AmigaWorld displays an English text about nature, population, economy
and history of a country. About 80% of the texts are done, the author
of these informative texts is Bo Arnholm who has already translated
AmigaWorld into Swedish!

Version 4.31 - 01-jan-1995

Version 5.0 - 23-oct-1995 - intern
o Following data has been added to all countries (if available):
o Annual population growth
o Life expectancy
o Share of illiterates
o Share of city-dwellers
o Average annual economic growth
o Inflation
o Unemployment
o Energy consumption per capita
o You can have sum or average calculated for any figure and any selection
of countries.
o Country list can be saved to and loaded from disk.
o Square miles can be used as area measure.
o Documentation now available as AmigaGuide- and DVI-file.
o Better installation with Commodore's `Installer'-software.
o Registered users receive a `Keyfile': Updates for free!
o Looks better.
Version 5.01 - 01-feb-1996
o All data was updated.
o Country data can be printed to paper.
o Improved optics and user-friendliness.
o Bug fixes.
Version 5.1 - 20-feb-1996
o Search mode `include' has been added.
o Search menu has been replaced by a cycle gadget that can be
contolled via keyboard.
o Keyboard-support for other features, too.
o AmigaWorld also works on 16-coloured screens. Then you can
modify the palette without affecting flag and map display.
o The maps don't look `squeezed flat' anymore on high screen resolutions.
o Requires at least Kickstart 2.1 -- 1.3 and 2.0 are not supported
anymore!
Version 5.11 - 12-mar-1996
o The menu item `Sort/Reverse order' has been improved: Countries without
available data stay at the end of the list.
o New `FarawayEyes' font is available in 9, 11, 13 and 15 point, well
suitable for high resolution screens. It includes Slavonic, Romanian
and Turkish chars: For translations and for improved display of cities
of these countries.
o A bug of version 5.1 has been fixed: Listing the dependencies from the
mother country's window does work again.
Version 5.12 - 10-apr-1996
o A bug of versions 5.1 / 5.11 has been fixed that occasionally caused a
guru when selecting ... the Quit-function!
(To be honest: At first it seemed a good idea to have such a
bug: People simply would never quit this beautiful program :)
o Improved look for Workbench 3.x.
Version 5.13 - 28-apr-1996 - intern
o The search function has improved again: Now it knows about accents and
umlauts. Example: "Ae", "æ" and "Ä" are treated just the same, "aa" is
accepted instead of "å", "e" instead of "Ë" or "è", and so on.
Version 5.14 - 29-apr-1996
o Keyboard support for the country list has improved: Cursor+Alt-Key moves
the list one line up or down, Cursor+Shift-Key browses through the list.

o Many of the country descriptions and some organization descriptions have
been updated.
Version 5.16 - 15-dec-1996
o Contains completely updated country data.
o The descriptions about organizations have been updated, some organizations
have been newly included (English and German only, at the moment).
o Looks better again and is now ready to be translated into any language
with an alphabet written from left to right side. How come?
100% font-sensitivity.
Version 5.17 - 01-mar-1997
o Better keyboard control and improved scrolling of the text descriptions.
o When printing a text, the preferences settings for left and right margin
are now considered and the text is formatted accordingly.
o There are now five formats for saving text descriptions:
ASCII, ASCII /w word wrap, ASCII /w control codes for bold, italic etc,
ASCII /w word wrap and control codes, LaTeX.
Version 5.18 - 29-jun-1997
o Some bugs now fixed that did show up on some machines equipped with
gfx-cards.
Version 5.19 - 05-dec-1997
o All data, some country descriptions and a few flags have been updated.
o The file format for loading/saving country lists has changed, but the old
format is still accepted for a while, hence: Should you have created
and saved some country lists, then please load them and just save them
again.
o The Danish translation is no longer included.
o Internal code-optimizations.
Known bugs
----------
o Map display causes problems with some graphic enhancers, e.g. with Cyber-
graphX 16-bit or 24-bit modes (but using them does not give any benefits
anyway, as AW does not display more than 16 colors [by now]).
Plans for the future
--------------------
o Improved map display with maps that flexibly adjust to any screen mode
and show cities, mountains and rivers. A beta version of this new map
generator is already done: It knows 1997's political borders and is
able to flood-fill land masses very precicely. It will be on Aminet in
early 1998. Watch out for "MASSIVE"!!!
o Information on major cities
o Improved flag display.
BUT ONLY IF THERE ARE SOME REGISTRATIONS AGAIN!
